Most delegates were from Olongapo and various towns of Zambales, central, eastern and western Pangasinan areas and others. There were 12 competing groups showcasing different genres such as cultural, cheerdance, a mix of ballroom, ethnic, hip-hop, techno, streetdancing and foreign dances in which most drive the audience’s adrenalin with a breath – taking performances as well as with their colorful and authentic props and costumes. The contest was organized by Aldrin ”Dindin” Rivera , event organizer and organizer, with the unparalleled help of Sharon Lee Guntang and the rest of sponsoring Mabinians, both local and abroad. Comprising the jurors were Mr. Ruben Pacis, Ms. Miamie Sison, Mr. Jerome Joves and Mr. Frederick Lacson – all were noted dancers and choreographers. The official tabulators were Sharon Lee, Mrs. Ma. Crispina Abella-Mamaril, Ms. Josepine Ancheta, Mrs. Marissa Fontelera-Bonode and Ms. Kathleen Mae Narra. The competition starts with a round of dance prowess that bespectacled crowd with magical scenario where top five finalists were spotted. Originally, Perlas ng Silangan of Olongapo, Amazing Paper Dolls of Subic, DAT of Basista , Pangasinan and two other great and skillfully-traded performers from Palauig, Zambales completed the slot. Unfortunately, delegates from Palauig were disqualified due to technicalities, thus, Kulturang Balincaguin of Mabini and Black Syndicate of Alaminos City, who happened to be 6th and 7th placers forwarded to the top five posts. The finalists end with a grand showdown. Concluding the event, Amazing Paper Dolls (96.25), showcasing a twist of Indonesian cum belly dance bounded in a modern jazz-gymnastic piece, bagged the championship slot receiving PhP 10,000 donated by Eman Cris and Charina Cadlaon-Butler, followed by Perlas ng Silangan (95.75), presents in a precise ethnic-cultural dance revolution accelerating in a mood of drama serializing a bat cum spiderman concept, received PhP 7,000 sponsored by Nieves Soriano-Caranto and Soriano family. The 2nd Runner Up is the contingent from Basista, the DAT (87.50), greatly performs an adrenalin-breaking hip-hop and techno in a battle with the dancefloor showing rhythmic precision and restless dynamo who went home with PhP 5,000 from a generous and very supportive Mabinian in Canada. Best in Props and Costume and Best conceptualized Performance all went to Perlas ng Silangan receiving PhP 1,000 each from Mr. Jerome Joves and Mr. and Mrs. Rolando Garcia (nee: Donna Padua-Garcia), respectively. The organizing group hopes to come up again with a greater and more festive performances next year.
